What kind of toys are needed for nowadays children?

Do nowadays kids need more things to play? Actually it has always been the same toys: something to be loved; something for the movement; some construction toys; role-playing materials and games.
Good toys should challenge, but at the same time not too complex it frustrates the child. Children develop differently, some are more advance, some are average, and some are less mature than their peers. For parents with advance children who are considering buying toys intended for older kids, safety issue should always be the first to consider when trying to decide whether a particular toy should be bought.
Other factor which determines toy value is playability. The toy value increases when they lack of functional fixedness. In other word, toys which can only do one thing have little value. Good toys can be approached at different levels and with open-ended results. This kind of toys will keep child's attention for a long period of time and stimulates his/her imagination.
The important thing you should consider when doing the toy shopping is the quality and durability of the toys. Well-made child toys are usually more expensive than those which aren't, but also last longer.
